21/11/13 Mastodon reveals producer for new album
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor revealed that band will soon be recording their new album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush).
Dailor had the following to say about Nick Raskulinecz: "He's a rock guy. He's a rocker. He likes to rock. He's done a bunch of our friends' records that sound great. I'm a fan of all the Deftones records he's done, all the Alice in Chains stuff, and he worked with Queens of the Stone Age on Songs for the Deaf."
Mastodon has written roughly 18 songs for the forthcoming effort, a handful of which will actually make into onto the record.
"It's gonna be massive and insane, lots of epic greatness," Dailor told Rolling Stone. "There will be lots of huge riffs and new directions. It's real weird, real math-y, real straightforward. It's up, down and all around... It's a culmination of everything for the band. The snowball keeps rolling and collecting snow."
19/11/13 Shai Hulud working on new material
Shai Hulud has revealed that they've been working on new material as-of-late. Fans of Shai Hulud know that they tend to release a new album every five years. Considering their latest outing was released earlier this year, the fact that the band is already working on new material may mean that they've abandoned their glacial songwriting pace and have instead adopted a semi-glacial songwriting pace.

18/09/13 August Burns Red guitarist to miss European tour
August Burns Red guitarist Brent Rambler will not accompany his bandmates on their forthcoming European tour. Rambler has released the following explanation:
"As some of you may know, my wife and I are expecting our first baby VERY soon. Because of this I have decided to sit out this European tour, so I can be home to help my wife during the last few weeks of her pregnancy and ensure that I'm present when my son is born.
"HOWEVER, do not worry, as my guitar playing duties have been left in the very capable and very shreddy hands of Mr. Justin Huffman.(ex - I, The Breather) Justin has been friends with the band for a very long time, and he's been practicing these songs since April, so everything will sound awesome for our amazing fans overseas. Heck, he even kind of looks like me.
"I will make my triumphant return to the band for our North American Headlining tour, which starts November 1st at the Union Transfer in Philadelphia, but in the mean time please show Justin an awesome time!
"My wife and I can't wait to welcome our baby into this world, and I hope that all of our European fans have a blast over the next 3 weeks!
"I wish I could be there, and I'll see you next time!"

28/08/13 A Day To Remember to release new album in October
A Day To Remember has confirmed plans to release their next album, Common Courtesy, on October 8th. It's currently unspecified which record label will handle the release, since A Day To Remember reportedly self-funded the production (the band launched a lawsuit against Victory Records in 2011). Either way, ADTR has uploaded the first episode of a new web series documenting the making of the album.
